The reproductive ability offered by electroforming provides a facsimile on size and surface finish which can be used to advantage for many types of injection mould dies.
A Rotoplas electroformed die consists of a nickel deposit to 48-50 Rc. plated to a thickness of approximately 5mm, from a metallic or non-metallic master. In some applications these nickel dies are mounted into hardened steel frames, but those requiring a greater thickness can be backed with additional nickel to a thickness of 20mm or more.
